Do you know that Henry Park has produced a national gymnast, a prize-winning novelist and a popular television host? Do you still remember the school field that we once shared with Raffles Girls Primary School?
These were some of the questions that raced through my head whilst doing research on the HPPS Heritage Gallery. Few primary schools have alumni associations and the Henry Park alumni is one of the first in Singapore to set up a heritage gallery for its alma mater. With the school's encouragement, we launched a heritage memorabilia drive in 2003. Within a year, the gallery - Henry Park Express - was set up and opened in August 2004 by the school's long-standing Chairman of the School Advisory Committee Dr Cheng Wei Nien, whose own children and grandchildren have studied or are currently studying in Henry Park.
Comprising objects donated by former students, staff and teachers, the gallery is a marker of the school's various milestones and captures the memories of former and current students and teachers.
You can view our heritage gallery located next to the AVA room on level 1 in the school. Please register at the school's general office when you drop by for a visit.
